footnotes are, on the tangible side, plants, objects, texts, materials, photos, and they are more: thoughts, ideas, wishes and speculations from the subconscious, creating networks of friends, collaborators, things, beings – human and more-than-human. All these utterances are uncertain, ambiguous, translations of suppressed, displaced, finally endorsed. Referencing The Book of the Ten Thousand Things, footnotes might turn out to be the main text. Using processes like composting and psychoanalysis, beginning and end are not clear. Building kinship among all collaborators (humans, things, nature, culture), the network they create is open, built anew every day.
